I love the energy, enthusiasm & motivation with startups. This year I’ve had the opportunity to advise two. It’s exciting to see them coming out of stealth mode now.
Circle of Moms has been quietly active, but after being featured on TechCrunch & Mashable last week, so it’s no longer a secret!
With 850K Users In 2 Months, Circle Of Moms Comes Out Of Nowhere
Ephraim Luft, CEO of Bantr, connected with me last summer & we’ve been talking about community building since. When I was in San Francisco in October I had the opportunity to meet Ephraim & his CTO, Mike Greenfield in person. Their offices are in the same building as MySpace (and no, I didn’t go there).
Ephraim & Mike have created a community for moms that has a viral aspect to it that is amazing. People can access it from a number of places. My portal has been Facebook.
Some quick stats:
- 1,089 communities to date after 2 months
- The largest group has almost 40 k members.
- Many of the communities have hundreds of conversations in them
Early on I created a group for Digital Scrapbookers. Now at two months there are 6,651 members.
So take a look & let us know what you think? Growth at this rate presents challenges. You are the experts, so what’s your analysis?
