People have been commenting about missing my presence in the past two days (thanks guys!). I’ve been very, very busy getting settled into my role as Community Manager with ACDSee. But I do have some photos to share (& more coming!)
On Tuesday I woke up to a cruise ship parked outside of my hotel window! That doesn’t happen in Minnesota – trust me. Victoria’s weather has been mostly nice.
I’ve been enjoying getting know ACD’s President Mark Franklin better & talking about my role. Genevieve is the Manager of Marketing & I report to her.
And this is my office space. The computers were multiplying! The left one is my personal one but couldn’t access the internet. The middle one is my predecessor’s and the one on the right was built for me to take home to use.
In the future I will be spending more time at my desk there, but this week has been filled with meetings. I booked 20 before I arrived & there have been impromptu ones in addition. I’ve been enjoying meeting people from the various departments & hearing about their role in the company. Because I’m working remotely I wanted to meet people & encourage them to connect with me.
This morning I attended a session on RAW files & cameras. It was my first exposure to the topic & quite interesting to hear it from a software developer’s standpoint. There are a lot of factors involved! I had seen this word ‘demosaicing’ & I was pronouncing it as demo- ….. but it really is demosaic-ing. Much easier to pronounce it the correct way!
more to come…
