It seems that I will be going offline for a few days & just answering select email. My week with my new company is going to be busy & intense. (Although it was me that set up all these meetings maybe!)
My trip to the office was quite memorable. The first two flights went fine, but the last one to Victoria was canceled. They put us up in hotels near the Seattle airport & we bonded in the luggage claim area. (Skills gained from blogging, facebook & Twitter I’m sure!)
So this morning I recognized a lady that was calling a taxi while I was waiting for a shuttle to the airport. She had secured a float plane, so I quickly joined her (I’ve never given out my credit card so fast!). I joined her in her taxi & we headed downtown. The weight limit on luggage was 25 lbs. ahem – a weeks’ worth of luggage means… I had about 50+ lbs with 3 bags. But they didn’t charge me for overage which was very generous.
The float plane was a 10 passenger & a bit noisy, but not much worse than the prop I flew in on the first leg of my trip. I’ve never been in a float plane, but it was nice to fly at a low altitude to see everything. The trip was only a half hour, no security at SEATAC & I showed up at the office 2 hrs than expected!
I’d highly recommend it if you want a unique way to travel! (Skip the canceled flight plan though). See you guys when I get off the social whirlwind tour of being the inhouse Community Manager.
